'Subvert. Appropriate. Juxtapose'

Hello! I’m Sunny Ang and a Singapore based toy photographer. You might also know me as zekezachzoom. I am a freelance graphic designer who accidentally stumbled upon the world of toy photography 8 years ago after posting my first toy photo way back in 2014. Since then, I have been fascinated by the miniature world of toys and their endless story telling possibilities. Whether shooting on location or in my home studio, I try to approach every photoshoot with enthusiasm and a desire to create something special.

I am a big fan of pop culture and like to take familiar movie scenes, quotes and characters and re-imagine them in totally unexpected ways that usually borders on levity. I also enjoy experimenting with light and shadow to create moody and atmospheric images.

I hope to spread the joy of toy photography locally, through workshops, managing the Facebook group Plastic Singapore and sharing the hobby through online interviews.

I don’t know what’s lies ahead, but I’m just going to throw my pictures out there into the Internet and see what comes back.

A lot has happened since I started this hobby: workshops, boothing, exhibitions and collaborations. It has been a most exciting, fun and rewarding journey with lots of surprises year after year.
